New Horizons Overseas Property Exhibition 13th & 14th January 2007

To arrange a successful two day property exhibition involves a great deal of preperation starting months before the actual event. So it was back in the early winter months of 2006 that preperations first began. Firstly, the venue had to be decided upon and it wasn’t long in settling on The Ardington Hotel Steyne Gardens Worthing West Sussex. We have used this hotel on a number of occassions over the years and found the location and attitude of the staff just perfect in making a successful exhiition. We needed a good size room and opted for their Venetain Suite, a double room with direct street access without having to go via their reception area. Coupled with broadband, wi fi and air con the room was booked.

Next came the preperation of our four page A4 newsletter. We had decided to promote Bulgaria, both The Sunny Beach area and mountain ski resorts of Pamporovo and Bansko, the whole of southern Cyprus, the areas of Avsallar, Alanya and Bodrum in Turkey, land in Romania and Southern Spain including Almeria, Murcia and, of course, the Polaris World Golf Resorts. Each country was to be featured on a quarter page with a full page for the Zarena Ski Apartments at Pamporovo Bulgaria. High quality images were sourced from each of the countries and layout, preperation and printing were left in the capable hands of Stuart Howard, the owner 3b’s printing company of Worthing West Sussex.

Next came the preperation of a purpose designed and made banner announcing the exhibition to be hung outside The Ardington Hotel during the two day event. After that, full page advertising and editorial had to be decided upon for the local newspaper The Worthing & District Advertiser & The Worthing Herald. This media was also chosen for the distribution of the newsletter to households around Worthing, Lancing, Shoreham - By - Sea, Findon Valley, Ferring, East Preston & Rustington.

By early January everything was in place and together with my colleauges from Interlink Property Services we set up the exhibition material early on the 13th January. By the close of our exhibition on Sunday 14th January we all agreed that it had been a very successful two day event with several bookings for inspection trips taken. By far and away and, as expected, Bulgaria was the clear favourite with a lot of interest being shown in Turkey & Cyprus. Spain continues to be a firm favourite with the British public particularly when considering a permanent or semi permanent move. With a flying time of about 2 hours, the low cost airlines including Ryan Air & Easy Jet serving much of the country, guaranteed sunshine it was decided that our next overseas property exhibition would concentrate solely on Spain but in particular the more rural and inland areas where ‘real’ Spain can be experienced. Of course the coastal resorts will still be on offer together with the ever popular golfing resorts of Polaris World. The date of this two day event has been set for 19th & 20th May 2007. The venue again will be The Ardington Hotel Steyne Gardens Worthing. This event is being held in conjuction with ‘A Home in Spain’ who have offices in both the Uk & Murcia region of Spain. Jennifer Lock who actually lives permanently in Spain will be on hand to answer any questions and of course relay her own personal experiences of living their. Jonathan Stanton her co-director based in the UK will also be at the event.
