Polaris World Murcia - A trip to Spain

We often take perspective buyers to view overseas properties, the following copy contains details of a trip to Polaris World, Spain for a couple to view a property and gain a feel for the environment.

Arrived at 2am to collect my clients from there home for the 45 minute journey to London Gatwick Airport for the 6.30 flight to Alicante Airport in Spain. I had booked our flight with Easy Jet and was delighted at the promptness and speed through check in and we were soon through passport control with plenty of time for a leisurely breakfast and a browse in the duty free shops. After a slight delay of 20 minutes we were soon winging our way to Spain.Polaris World Murcia Spain

After a flight time just in excess of two hours we were soon landing at Alicante Airport on Spain’s Costa Blanca. We disembarked a short way from the terminal building and were greeted by the pleasant sunshine in Spain with uninterrupted blue skies. We collected our hire car and were soon heading south on one of Spain’s very modern motorways towards our destination at Polaris Worlds Golf Resort at Mar Menor near the town of Torre Pacheco. We could have chosen to fly into San Javier airport which is a lot closer but my clients were keen to visit some of the coastal towns between Alicante and Mar Menor on our return journey.

The Murcia region of Spain where all the Polaris World Resorts have been or are being developed is exceptionally well served by a good road network. The Mediterranean highway A-7 going north connects the eastern region with the south of Spain; the toll motorway AP-7 going south and the new bypasses that will take you to the beach at Mazarron in just 10 minutes. You can also reach the Costa Calida very easily: La Manga and the Mar Menor.

As well as the airports of Alicante and San Javier there is a new airport planned at Corvera which will put Polaris World a mere 15 minutes away.
We had booked in at The Intercontinental 5 Star Hotel on Polaris Worlds Mar Menor Resort which is a gated community of villas set around a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course also served by restaurants and shops. With the warm sunshine and the uninterrupted blue skies my clients decided that a bar snack around the hotel pool followed by a swim was just to inviting to miss. In the evening we eat outside at the Oliveo Restaurant opposite our hotel where a superb choice of cuisine was on offer including a BBQ where you picked your choice of meat which was cooked in front of you to your liking. Following our meal we retired to our rooms where a Jacuzzi bath was most welcoming.
The following morning breakfast was taken around the pool and clearly we were in for another warm day. After breakfast we made our way to the Polaris World Headquarters some 20 minutes drive away.

There we were met by the always helpful multi lingual staff and were show in 3d the numerous Polaris World Developments including, La Torre, Condado Alhama, La Loma, Mar Menor, Elle Valle & Hacienda Riquelme. All are gated communities set around a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course and offer something for everyone from apartments to spacious villas with their own swimming pools. After discussing with my clients their various options the next stop was at the huge furniture warehouse and garden centre right next door to Polaris World Headquarters where everything conceivable can be purchased from a mere spoon to a hot tub!
After a couple of hours at Polaris World it was time to show my clients some show apartments. We made our way to La Torre Golf Resort some 15 minutes away which again is a gated community with commercial centre. We spent an hour or so viewing furnished show apartments so as to give a ‘feel’ of the finished product. It was now time for lunch which we took at the newly opened Golf Clubhouse where we eat overlooking the fairways, an absolutely delightful setting.

By this time my clients were ’sold’ on Polaris World and in particular the apartments at the Mar Menor Golf Resort where we were staying and much of the remainder of the day was taken up with deciding which aspect suited them best. They naturally wanted to ’sleep’ on it and after a meal taken at the hotels restaurant around the pool I left my clients with time to take consider all that they had seen.

The following morning started with breakfast by the pool and another look at the various options available. The 3d model was of enormous help and my clients decided that a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with terrace was for them. They paid there deposit and at the time of writing this they have now contracted on their chosen apartment and are looking forward to delivery during 2008.

After the reservation was made there was just time to spend in the pool before heading back to Alicante Airport and our late flight home. This has been my third visit to Polaris World in the Murcia region of Spain during 2006 and I am looking forward already to my next visit where you can be assured of good weather, lovely food and very friendly people.
