Polaris World Murcia - An Update 27th - 30th April 2007

Not having been to the Polaris World Developments in the Murcia Region of Spain since last September, I decided to re-aquaint and update myself with developments there. Together with my wife Carol we booked a 3 night 4 day trip and finding that the Intercontinental Hotel on the Mar Menor Golf Resort was fully booked opted to stay at the newly opened Hotel 525 in nearby Los Alcazares some 20/30 minutes drive from The Polaris World Headquarters.

Although not as prestigous as the Intercontinental Hotel it was very well located within a few minutes walk of the Mar Menor Sea. We were greeted by very friendly staff and we were soon in our 4th floor room overlooking a square filled with restaurants and cafe’s. Our room was very comfortable with en-suite facilities, air conditioning and for a 4 star hotel very reasonably priced with the benefit of underground car parking.

Having arrived late pm we decided to eat in the square at a local restaurant where a very acceptable and reasonably priced meal was had. Returning to our hotel room we were soon ‘out for the count’ after a busy first day.

The following morning we had a leisurely breakfast at the hotel dining room. A choice of hot or cold to suit all. After breakfast we headed first for the Mar Menor Golf Development close to Torre Pacheco so we could check on the progress of a clients purchase and report back to them upon our return. Afterwards we made our way to Polaris World headquaters at Balsicas some 20 minutes drive. Here we were able to see scale models of all the Polaris World Developments including, Jardines de Alhama, Mar Menor, Terrazas de la Torre, El Valle, La Torre, Hacienda Riquelme and La Loma

Having arranged to meet up with a fellow overseas agent, we set of for La Torre Golf Resort some 15 minutes drive. Here we inspected her newly purchased two bedroom apartment and then mad our way to the town centre and a much welcome drink overlooking the driving range. We were told that later that night Polaris World had laid on live music for the reisidents and guests.

Afterwards we headed back to Los Alcazares for a long walk along the sandy beaches of the Mar Menor which are lined with cafe’s open into the evening.

The following day we explored the La Manga Strip a round journey of about 1 hour. Also within easy reach are the cities of Cartagena & Murcia together with the bustling market town of Torrevieja. Further north is Alicante and Elchie about 60 minutes by car.

As we are considering a purchase ourselves on a Polaris Resort we spent our final day considering our various options and will return again soon to make our choice.

In the past we have always flown into Alicante Airport an easy drive of about 45/60 minutes but this time opted to fly in and out of San Javier Airport. Much smaller than Alicante but so much easier if you staying in a Polaris World Resort or in Murcia. From airport to Hotel 525 is about a 10 minute drive.
